Oprah Blue Ivy Godmother

When your mother is Beyonce and your father Jay-Z, it is perhaps only fitting that one of the few other people on the planet famous and powerful enough to be known by one word, should be your godmother.

Oprah, 57 , for it is reportedly she, has many other qualities of course, so it wouldn’t be surprising for Beyonce, 30 , and her 42-year-old husband to select the American institution for the role.

RadarOnline is reporting that the chat show icon has been asked, but neither the happy parents or Oprah have confirmed the information.

What is known for sure is that Oprah gifted baby Blue a trunk full of books upon her arrival.

In 2010, Oprah chose Jay-Z’s book Decoded as one of her famed Favourite Things, saying how impressed she was by it after Jay sent her a copy.

The role of godfather has reportedly been given to Tyran ‘Ty Ty’ Smith, a close friend of Jay-Z’s—a conscious decision by the A-list parents to not choose blood relatives as Blue’s godparents.

Not even a month old and Blue already has countless mock Twitter accounts and a record-breaking Billboard hit.

The baby – who has Jay-Z’s last name Carter – is already a record-breaker as gurgles on the rap lullaby Glory make her the youngest artist to hit the Billboard charts.

Blue Ivy Carter was just five days old when the single, which her father posted online Monday, debuts Thursday at No. 74 on Billboard’s R&B/hip-hop hit list.

‘It’s historical. The charts are almost 72 years old, so to be the youngest ever to chart is something,’ said Bill Werde, Billboard’s editorial director.
